Break In
Yep, it happened. Jeramie had parked his work van right in front of our house like he always does and it got broken into while we were home! Apparently the police don't really deal with this kind of stuff anymore. I was shocked. Because it was his work van and they stole his laptop right out of it we called the police first thing, for insurance reasons. Well now all they do is give you a number over the phone. I guess getting your vehicle broken into isn't a big deal anymore. We did find out that Jeramie's wasn't the only car broken into that night, there was another one up the street, according to the police. Makes me really grateful that we park my car in the garage every night. We park our truck in the driveway along with the work van. But there's nothing in the truck. It's so disturbing knowing that we were home when it happened. Isn't it kind of an oxymoron to have an ADT Security van broken into?! Jeramie's work wasn't too understanding about it unfortunately. They will not replace the laptop for him, so now his job just got harder. (something about fire systems being easier to trouble shoot when you can plug into them with a laptop). Sucks. The only thing they took out of the van was the laptop, they left his wallet (guess them bastards knew it never has any money in it!), they also left his paycheck as well. I feel so violated. Makes me glad that we have a security system installed in the house!

Insomnia ...
So last night I was laying in bed and I desperately wanted to go to sleep. I was so tired but I just couldn't get there. They say that stress leads to insomnia .. I'm convinced it's stress. I feel pulled in lots of directions these days between work (especially work) and home. Being a working mom is not easy. Which there's more on that specific topic coming soon. Anyway, so I'm laying in bed trying to go to sleep and I have the TV on because then it stops my mind from thinking about all the million things I tend to worry about all day long. They especially pop into my head when I'm trying to go to sleep. So I try and find something on TV that will just be background noise. Well from 11pm to 12am every night TNT plays reruns of my all time favorite show. If you don't recognize the picture below then .. well it wouldn't matter if I told you what show it is. Keep in mind I'm really settling here because the TNT version is the "regular TV .. take out all the good stuff" version. Normally I HATE it. So I figure this is a good choice since I have seen every single episode more than once so it's not like it's gonna suck me in .. THINK AGAIN!! I don't have my contacts in which means I can't see anything without my glasses. So here I am in bed trying to go to sleep and funny things keep happening (it's the episode where Smith shaves his head because Samantha is losing her hair .. so touching). So here's stupid me .. I have to keep putting my glasses back on so I can watch what's happening. Glasses on .. Glasses off .. Glasses on .. Glasses off. Clearly this wasn't a good idea!! But boy did it remind me how much I LOVE and MISS this show!!! As a woman if you've never watched this you're really missing out on something special. More than anything it's about friendship with your girlfriends.
Oh and then get this .. surely it's due to my total lack of sleep. But I'm at work today and all of a sudden out of nowhere it occurs to me that I was supposed to pick Jackson up from preschool today. I FORGOT TO PICK HIM UP!!!! Okay, now keep in mind normally my awesome sister in law Amber picks him up and drops him home afterschool each time so this isn't the norm for me. (Thanks Amber .. you have no idea how much I truly appreciate this!!) But today they are out of town so I knew I needed to do it. But I got distracted when she told me and didn't put it on my trusty calendar. God I SUCK today!

Just a little taste of Spring.
Well I think along with so many other Utahn's this past weekend we made the most of the beautiful weather. It was truly such a beautiful day on Saturday. So we began by getting the kids outside and pulling the slide out from the backyard while Jeramie worked on pulling down our Christmas lights. Yep, I said it (outloud and everything) we still hadn't taken down our house lights. We are always one of the last people to put them up and the last to take them down. I will say however, that our next door neighbors still have theirs up as well (see I'm excusing our behavior)! Anyway we all piled outside and got out some toys for the boys, while Baylee and I enjoyed a little reading. Baylee is so funny, she saw me with my Kindle and went inside to get some books. When she came back she had on the new shorts that I had bought her a couple weeks ago. I had forbidden her to wear them to school because it was still too cold. But she made a point of telling me it was HOT today. Not only did she have shorts and a t-shirt on but she also had lathered up with sunscreen. She loves the stuff. Jackson at one point said, "what's that smell??" Oh, that's just Baylee's sun tan lotion in the 60 degree weather. My kids crack me up. However, as a post note I will say that I noticed the next day while we were shopping that Baylee's left arm (that which had been facing the sun) was a little pink. Guess she knew better than I did!!
Look at that beautiful blue sky!
Jackson doing some coloring.
Wow that sun is bright!
Jackson being a good little helper with Dad.
Prior to the clothes change, I LOVE that my kids love books.
WOWEE!! Those are definitely winter toes!!!
I LOVE MY KINDLE!
Wyland's new haircut, he's a little Beatle :o)
Sneaking a quick ride on Jackson's tractor.
Boy do I love these little guys!
Loving the slide.
I just think this pic is cute.

6. Because I think it's fun to make Jeramie eat healthly too.
5. Because I feel horrified when I look in the mirror at myself naked.
4. Because I know if I commit to doing it I will be successful.
3. Because my clothes are WAY more comfortable when they aren't tight.
2. Because I feel pretty and sexy and just downright better about myself when I'm thinner.

A little indoor fun.
I am a little bit behind on the blogging front. But during the last week of February Jackson was talking about dinosaurs at preschool. So I figured it would be an ideal time to go to the Thanksgiving Point Dinosaur Museum. As far as dinosaur museums go they really do have a decent one. They have even added a new section since the last time we went (which was actually before Jackson was born), so perhaps not really new anymore. But there is a bunch of stuff the kids can do hands on. The kids really enjoyed this section. I'm sure we'll go back soon, it was a fun day. We went with my parents as well as my brother Mike and his family.
The kids playing in the first little section.
Baylee and Wyland checking out an exhibit.
I just think that's so cool!
The kids loved the water part where they could play
with the dinosaurs in the sand.
Even the little guys.
Baylee helps Wyland out.
LOVE that smile ...
All my babies.
Cousin Winter showing the kids how to dig for bones.
Baylee hanging back with her favorite Grandma.
I just LOVE this picture. This was literally on our way home.

Jackson is so funny.
So last night I was laying in my bed reading my Kindle while Jackson laid next to me and was watching Dumbo. I've been trying to get him interested in some of the traditional Disney movies so that Disneyland this summer will be more meaningful to him. Well Jackson left for a little while to go see what Jeramie was doing and I just left the movie running because I knew he'd be back soon. At one point I looked up and I saw like these men working on setting up the circus maybe (not completely sure since I wasn't really watching it). It struck me as odd though because they were clearly "dark skinned" men but they didn't have faces. It struck me as odd that they didn't have eyes and noses, maybe some had mouths. It was just WEIRD, because they were missing faces but had ears. So I remember thinking it was kind of strange and wow we have come a long way in animation!! Not to mention it dated the movie because nowadays you wouldn't see only "dark skinned" people being the labor workers, it wouldn't be politically correct today. Anyway, as I expected Jackson came back upstairs and was upset I had paused the movie. So I had to rewind it to the beginning and he settled in to watch it. I went back to my Kindle reading. A little while later Jackson says, "Mom .. why don't those people have faces??" HAHA!!! He's such a smart kid!! I just thought it was so funny that he noticed the exact same thing that I did. Very interesting.

The Costco Incident
Okay so tell me what you would do in this situation ...
A couple weeks ago Jeramie and I were both at Costco getting our shelving units for the big garage clean-up. We rarely go there together and so that means that Big Red (our big old Ford F-150) doesn't get her gas tanks filled all too often there. See I'm that person that every week when I'm there doing my grocery shopping I fill up my tank. I rarely buy gas anywhere else. So it was a good opportunity to go through the gas station and fill up both cars. So keep in mind I was driving my car and Jeramie was driving the truck right behind me.
For those of you that have never been through the Costco gas station I will try and explain the set up to you. Basically you get two pumps in a row, so two cars can fill up at the same time. Then there is a center lane in between for the back cars to pull out and go around the car in front of them that isn't finished. I hope that makes sense.
Okay, so I pulled up behind the car at the back pump to wait for them to finish. The pump in front of them was open but I figured I would wait and then Jeramie and I could just both pull forward at the same time and then fill up together. See we also had to share the Costco card that you have to swipe first. So here I am minding my own business patienting waiting for the little old lady in front of me to finish. Next thing you know this old man is another old F-150 (really it was just like Big Red) swiftly swerves around both Jeramie and I and pulls into the front pump!!! I couldn't believe it. The guy just TOTALLY cut to the front of the line!!!! Who goes around people waiting in line and takes it upon themself to go first? REALLY WHO DOES THAT??
Needless to say I was ANGRY. I honked my horn when he did it, which of course got everyones attention. Right about that time the lady finished and pulled out of the gas station. So as I roll forward into the back spot now (because of course this A-hole has taken the front one) I am literally yelling foul words at him from my car. Oh .. he could read my lips. So as I am starting to get out of my car this old man comes and gets in my face asking what I said. Well, I repeated it to him. What did he think that him being some big strong man was going to bully little old me?? Umm .. I don't think so. So here I am in a yelling match with an old man. Little did he know (and clearly he didn't) that my husband was in the car behind me. So of course Jeramie seeing this guy getting in my face jumps out of the truck and he's behind me in an instant. Next thing is the older Costco worker gets involved too. They were both older white gentlemen. So of course they joined forces to bully up on me too. Telling me the space was open and that meant he could take it. HELLO?? There were TWO people waiting in line?? How does that constitute you being allowed to cut in front? Plus there is a line that says STOP right before the gas pumps, so does that also mean he can break the law? I'll have you know I did not back down. I told him what an ignorant person he was and of course once Jeramie was out of his truck this guy walked back to his own truck. I finished pumping my gas and as I was driving away I told him he was an ignorant old man. Well aparently that riled him up as well because he and Jeramie exchanged some words after I left.
Now don't get me wrong, I don't go around bullying nice old men. This guy was not nice. He was horrible. I hate when men who are older than me think that they can bully me just because I am smaller and female, and younger. It isn't right. I must say that blantant bad manners are just a pet peeve of mine. That kind of stuff gets my blood boiling. So what would you have done in that situation?
