Wheeler Farm

Last Saturday we headed over to Wheeler Farm to visit with the animals and pick out a pumpkin.  Mike and his kids also came along.  This is something I look forward to doing every year.  I swear I get some of my best pictures each year on this visit.  This year however it was still really warm.  Too warm for my liking. I had Oliver on my back and I was downright hot.  Plus a lot of the leaves it didn't seem had changed too much yet either.  But we all still had a really great time.

My cute little bones.

I swear looking at pictures of him lately is killing me.  He's looking so grown up.

Cousin Fun.

Baylee and Wyland have a pretty special relationship.

Mike and his kiddos.

While he was heavy on my back.  It was definitely convenient not to have to navigate
a stroller all through the farm.

The kids were afraid to feed the ducks through the fence.
Good 'ole Grandma had them doing it though.

Then we were off to pick our pumpkins.
They were all really small but that's okay I guess.

On the way out Grandma decided to take the scenic route.
Then Baylee followed and wished she hadn't, while Wyland thought it was great fun.

I love coming to Wheeler Farm this time of year.  While we were there it was so warm that we decided we would come back the very next day to do our annual family pictures.  Normally we're really cold while we do them, last year it was even drizzling with rain.  The family was already planning on getting together to celebrate Evan's birthday so the time was already set aside.  Pictures to come ...

Wheeler Farm

I think this is one of the things I look forward to most in the Fall.  So when we woke up on Saturday morning and it was pouring with rain I was pretty disappointed.  It's just such a great time of year to go to Wheeler Farm with all the changing colors.  Plus it's relatively affordable and fun for the kids.  We had originally planned to go at 1pm and as we were driving out there it was still drizzling a little bit and actually stopped right before we got there.  With Jeramie home painting and his older boys didn't want to go so it was just me, my kids and my mum.  The weather was perfect.  Light jacket weather.  I was worried that it would be really muddy but that wasn't even a problem either.  So around the farm we went.

It's so strange to see Wyland playing on the big tractors this year.

Look at how grown up Jackson is these days.
His little face just looks so grown up.
Wyland really liked the small goats but was afraid to get too close.
Baylee is never afraid of the animals.
The GQ hand in pocket pose cracked me up.
I can hardly believe there will soon be three!
Loved this sweater on Wyland.  Too bad we came home and Dad let him get paint on it.

After a couple of hours at the farm, with completely dry weather the entire time it began raining literally as we were driving out of the parking lot.  One of the perks to taking a chance with the weather was that there weren't that many people there at all which was really nice considering it was the last Saturday before Halloween weekend.  The kids had fun and I loved getting so many Fall pictures of them.

When we were done we headed over the Barnes and Noble for a cup of coffee and some books.  It was such a fun afternoon.  Not to mention remember as we were out having fun with the kids at the farm my Dad and Jeramie were busy painting the basement!

Wheeler Farm in the Fall

Today we went to Wheeler Farm. Last year their scarecrow festival was pretty fun and so it was definitely something that we wanted to do again. They did things a little differently this year which I was rather skeptical about but it actually turned out to be just as much fun. There was the traditional wagon ride, a maze, pumpkin patch, and then you could pay extra for a pony ride. Plus there were the usual animals to see. There are lots of babies this time of year. This year we saw baby cows and piglets. Wheeler Farm is so pretty this time of year, between 2 cameras I think we took over 200 pictures. So this post is rather large, but I really had to choose only some of my favorites. All the kids had a lot of fun. It's always a little chaotic when we are outnumbered by the kids but they were all really good today. We had no major meltdowns from anybody. After the Farm we took them to burn some more energy at McDonalds play land. Then it was back to Grandma's house to back cookies and decorate the pumpkins. We didn't carve pumpkins today since they would be mushy by the time Halloween arrived. But Grandma bought some cute little pieces that you stick into the pumpkin to make faces. Kind of like Mr. Potato Head. All in all it was a really fun day. This is definitely one of the funnest things we do with the kids each year for sure.
