Puppies grow so quickly!

I can't believe how quickly these puppies grow.  It's not just Boston and Maisie left.  Boston came home to live at our house when he was about 9 weeks old and adjusted very quickly to life with Abby (our poodle mix we've had for about 10 years).  He and Maisie attend puppy training together every Wednesday and still have play dates on Sunday's.

How can you not love that little puppy face??

He can be a little naughty sometimes.
I actually think he's too big to do this now thank goodness.

Bunnies, Eggs and Puppy Kisses

I swear Easter just sneaks up on us every year!  Feels like we're just recovering from our Christmas hang over and Easter is upon us.  We did the usual this year.  Easter baskets at home.  Lunch, Easter baskets and egg hunting at my parents.

Puppies were four weeks old at this point and SOOOOOOO cute!!!
There's Boston (the darkest) right on top of the puppy pile.

Oh Hello Boston!

I do believe this is Maisie.
She was the lightest of the litter.

And those puppies loved having the kids to play with.

Oh yeah .. this is an Easter post, not puppy post.

The kids enjoyed their egg hunt and Oliver found LOTS of eggs with Daddy.

There's that Boston again.

Baylee will never outgrow the excitement of the egg hunt.
And I'm sure it has *nothing* to do with the chocolate inside those eggs.

Rachel loves her some puppy kisses.  Courtesy of Maisie.

This picture reminds me.  Mum took a spill while walking Sailor right before Easter.  It was NOT pretty.  She insisted nothing was broken and didn't go to the doctors.  However, weeks later she conceeded that there was an issue.  Off to the doctors she went only to find out that she did indeed break that nose of hers in MULTIPLE places.

Why is it that my children are constantly taking their clothes off?  We were sat on the deck enjoying drinks and the afternoon sun when out comes Oliver .. NAKED .. of course.

I am going to miss having a baby to snuggle...

Hello puppies!

Happy Easter friends!

Puppy Palooza 2014!!!

My mum had decided to breed her dog a couple years ago.  After a few attempts to find a good mate / match for Sailor, she went on a couple dates during the right time and then it was wait and see time to find out if she was pregnant.  With dogs, they apparently don't just have a pregnancy test, or maybe they do and it's just super expensive.  You just have to wait and see if the dog starts gaining weight.  And boy did she.  She became so big (don't get offended, Mum, you know this was true).  She went from one meal a day to 3+ meals per day and she became very slow.  Let's not even talk about the state of her nipples!!

A couple weeks before they were due to arrive my mum took Sailor in to the vet to have an xray.  I guess they thought it would be a good idea to know how many babies were there so that my mum would know when Sailor was finished delivering.  They predicted 8 puppies at that time and so it was wait time.

On March 18th around 10pm the first puppy arrived.  Mum was up all night long delivering puppies .. after 8 had arrived they just kept coming.  All the way until 11am the next morning puppy number 11 finished it off.  Clearly the $200 xray was a WASTE of money, because they missed 3 puppies in there!

We really debated about whether or not we would take one of the puppies.  Although we quickly became very fond of puppy number FIVE.  Ironically that's the below puppy that Wyland was holding the very first day.

It wasn't long before we named that little boy .. Diego.  He was the darkest puppy of the whole litter.  Also, very mellow compared to the rest.

In the end we did decide to have a puppy and lucky for us Mum let us have him for free.  In the end Diego turned into "Boston" and eventually when I get around to it we will register him with the Kennel Club as "Sailor's Boston Strong".  My mum also kept a puppy (of course), although she swears that she could have let them all leave.

And so the puppy pallooza adventure began at the Senior Howard household.  Puppy poop and pee, in the house, in the house in the pool, in the yard, loose in the yard, in the fenced area built for them in the yard, chewing up Mum's garden as soon as she planted it, many many pictures.

It sure was fun though watching those puppies grow...
