Thanksgiving 2010

We had one of the best Thanksgivings this year!  It was relaxing, non-rushed and full of fun.  Traditionally I am terrible at taking pictures on Thanksgiving. I'm not even sure why, perhaps because it's usually a bunch of hanging out and socializing.  This year we added an activity.  I thought that taking the boys sledding would be fun so once we got to my parents house we headed up the road to a park.  This park has a really good sledding hill for both big and little kids. It's not so huge that you spend so much time climbing up it, but not so short that it isn't worth the effort when sliding down.  It was just right for our little guys.  Plus I'm not big on going up the canyon with small kids because they usually only have fun for at the most an hour before they're cold and it isn't so much fun anymore.  So this worked out perfectly and Jackson in particular was VERY excited.  I'm not even sure he knew what sledding was, other than the fact that we promised it would be super fun.
Love Wyland's cheesey grin.
 Daddy and Wyland.
I still can't believe how much this guy is growing up.

This is one of my favorite pictures from the day.

Baylee and Grandma from the observation deck.
Papa getting a fast run in on his own.
Just to prove that I was there!

So after the sledding we headed back to my parents for some Turkey.  My mother cooked an amazing meal, as she ALWAYS does.  I look forward to Thanksgiving and Christmas because they are both always so delicious.  A tradition that my mum started in the 90's sometime is that we all write on the same table cloth what we are thankful this year.  It's so much fun to go back and see the various guests we've had over for Thanksgiving as well as what we are grateful for this year versus ten years ago.

After dinner we played a "friendly game" of girls vs. boys Pictionary, which soon led to the good old movie charades.  I must mention that we ladies won both games!!
Wyland having a little post game fun all on his own.
Like I said we had an amazing Thanksgiving.  We missed my brother Mike and his family, but this year was their rotation with Amber's family.  So we're already looking forward to Christmas when we can spend the day in a similar manner ... perhaps with some gifts as well.
