Comparisons

I pulled out some of Baylee's baby books to see how she compared to Oliver and I was actually a little surprised how much I think that they look alike.  Even though she has some very definite PWS characteristics there are definitely some similarities that I see.  Chubby cheeks, around the eyes and mouth too.

I seriously can't believe how much babies change in only a year at this age.  Here's Oliver this time last year.

And then I started looking at how much Wyland has matured this last year.  He's definitely gone from a toddler to a little boy.

Even Jeramie has changed alot over the years.  Here he is right when we first met.  Then last summer.  Somethings don't change, like Jeramie napping.  Now he just convinces a kid to do it with him so that nobody will disturb him in fear of disturbing the sleeping child.  He looks like a boy in that first picture .. rather than the twentysomething man he was. 

Time flies by much too quickly.

Life is good though.

9 Months

I definitely think that Oliver and Jackson look a lot alike.

Taking eye color out of the equation.

Hair = yes

Eyes = no

Face shape = yes

Ears = pretty close

7 Month Comparison

Today Oliver is 7 months old.

I think that I missed the 6 month comparison .. oopsie.

So to me Jackson and Wyland look more alike at that age than I remember.

While Oliver obviously doesn't have the same color eyes,

I still don't think you would mistake them for brothers.

They all have those full squishy cheeks.

Total cuties.

And yet asleep I think they look a LOT alike.

That was Jackson in the bottom picture.

While Oliver still isn't sitting up .. he's close and that's okay with me.

I notice that Wyland already has two teeth and today his are the worst teeth of all.

Jackson didn't cut his first tooth until after his first birthday.

I'd be perfectly happy if Oliver waited equally as long.

Sometimes I watch Oliver watching Jackson and Wyland with such eagerness.

The reminder shocks me that I have THREE boys.

Three.

They are so much fun.

Baylee couldn't love any one of them any more than she does.
I think she feels super lucky too.

Less and less like the others all the time I think.

I'm thinking he's looking more and more like Wyland?

Sisterly Resemblance

So last week here I blogged about Oliver at 3 months and compared him to Jackson and Wyland.  Amber left a comment about whether or not perhaps he looked like Baylee.  I feel like I should start by explaining why I don't usually include her in the comparisons.  The biggest reason is probably convenience.  Jackson and Wyland were both born during the digital age and so all their pictures are already on my computer and quick to access.  Baylee's on the other hand I have to go to the basement and pull hers out of photo albums and then scan them.  Kind of a pain in the butt.  That's the simple explanation. The other part is more complicated but perhaps the more appropriate reason.  Baylee was 6 weeks premature and so her maturity was definitely off if you looked at it by month.  Comparing her at 3 months to the boys is more like comparing her at 5 months, that would be more accurate.  Then there's the fact that with Prader-Willi Syndorome there are some very specific physical characteristics, one of which specifically leads to her having almond shaped eyes.  Lastly there's the fact that she only has half the same DNA.  Because of ALL that, I tend not to include her.  BUT after Amber left the comment I went looking for Baylee's pictures.  And I have to say that I actually do see some resemblance between them!

3 Month Comparison

I actually think they all look quite a bit alike at 3 months.

I think that he looks slightly more like Jackson.

I have no brown eyed babies.

And I'm THRILLED!

I always wanted brown eyes myself.

The one thing I hoped for with Oliver while I was pregnant.

Dark hair and brown eyes.

Look who got her way...

Curls or Straight?

That is the question.

I've determined that Jackson's hair started to look significantly curly right around 9 months.

Wyland's on the other hand.  Dead straight all along.

So everyone wonders which route Oliver's hair will take.

I'm thinking we've got some curls growing here.

I'm terrible and seeing who babies look like.  I *think* that he looks more like Wyland than Jackson.  He seems to have Wyland's rounder face.  But I think that Wyland is chubbier.  I think right now Oliver is close to Wyland at birth weight, not 1 month old weight.  I'm not sure .. I just can't really tell.
