Day at the zoo.

I actually happen to think that going to Hogle Zoo is fun.  Yeah it's not San Diego Zoo with it's bus tour and HUGE exhibits.  But it's nice and they have most of the major animals.  They continue to make improvements to it.  Growing it bigger.  We're especially excited for the polar bears to come back, especially since they're bringing some marine friends (sea lions, seals and sea otters).  This year we bought a membership.  It turns out that the annual membership cost us what it would cost to basically go as a family two times.  Plus it's nice to just get out and go for a walk.  I hope that we make a point of using it frequently. Oh and they have some cool dinosaurs now.  The boys thought they were very cool.

I was surprised the baby elephant from last year still looked so small.
 Love this picture.

It's very awkward to watch a giraffe try and sit down!
But doesn't she look so regal now that she's actually down there?

Jeramie spent a lot of time like this.

Jackson is SUCH a poser.  I love it.

Not sure what this pose is all about.

Wyland doesn't enjoy having his picture taken.
I'm hoping that changes with age.
Because with those eyes he's very photogenic!
Jackson likes to pose next to most everything.

It was a super fun day.
Wasn't too busy.
Wasn't too hot.
Just right.

Fun at the park.

Hopefully today is the beginning of some consistently warm weather. I actually pulled some tags off some news shorts for the boys and their legs saw the first of the Spring sun. It was such a beautiful day and we couldn't wait to get outside. I had heard that there was a pretty cool park just up the street. Unfortunately we don't have a park at all within walking distance from our house so we have to make do with a quick car ride. This place is only about 5 minutes away. But what a find. It was probably the coolest park I've ever been to! There were at least 4 different playgrounds there. It had a great wide sidewalk that you could walk around the entire park. The main attraction for my kids was the Fort. Even I have to admit it was really cool. All the kids loved it and Jackson threw an absolute fit when it was time to leave. The only thing I would change is that it was a little busy (I know, well obviously if it's as cool as I say it is). Anyway, here's some pictures from our fun day. Wyland spent the afternoon with his big sister, while Jackson found some other kids to play with. Jeramie and I had to divide and conquer so that we kept eyes on our little ones. We will for sure be heading back here I'm sure pretty frequently in the upcoming months. I should also mention that we began our visit with a walk around the whole park just to check out what we were working with. This was my excuse to squeeze in a little exercise for myself and Baylee before we started playing. It worked!

Here's the Fort. That's Baylee and Wyland on the swings.
This was in a somewhat smaller kids area.
That was the nice thing too, even Baylee could
enjoy some of the stuff at the park. None of the stuff
was too small for her to follow Wyland around on.
The t-shirt totally wasn't planned .. I swear.
Recognize this smile, J'Von does the same thing
with the whole squinty eyes.
Baylee was such a good big sister. She just followed
Wyland and catered to his every whim.
Baylee showing off with her ongoing chant of ..
"IN .. OUT .. IN .. OUT"

I already know this is going to be one of my
favorite pictures for a very long time.
I love most pictures of kids and people for that
matter holding hands.

Bath time fun.

Bath time is lots of fun at our house. Wyland getting to the age of sitting up was one of the best things that happened at our house. Jackson was currently in a stage where he screamed bloody murder while I bathed him. I have no idea what happened, he went from loving the bath tub to it being his personal torture chamber. It's taken some time but now that he has a buddy to "swim" with he loves bath time again. It's so much fun watching the two of them play together in the tub. Wyland has always loved baths. They have entered the stage where they play together a lot. It's such total "boy" play too. At first I was so worried that Jackson was being too rough with Wyland but that little boy holds his own! I believe they both end up in tears as equal as the other. As a working mom I don't get a lot of these moments with my babies. Bath time is one of those moments that I treasure.
