SO grateful!

I don't know if I've mentioned on my blog before but Jeramie's dad is a mechanic.  Our truck, fondly known as BIG RED is older.  She ('cause she's a girl) pulls my dad's boat up and down Parley's Canyon like a champ all summer long.  A couple summers ago the clutch went completely out on Big Red.  Gerald came over and he and Jeramie pulled the entire clutch out and replaced it.  Only cost us $300 instead of the $900+ we were quoted at a shop.  They were up real late into the night in the garage fixing that truck in time for a weekend camping trip.  Then a couple weekends ago they pulled the back end apart to fix a leak.

Well this past week we had another one of those "emergency" situations.  Gerald and Jeramie replaced all the brakes and rotors on my car only a couple years ago.  This week all of a sudden one of my brakes was acting funny.  So Sunday night while we had dinner with the family Gerald came up to my parents house and he and Jeramie pulled the front brakes and rotors off again and replaced them again. Thank goodness Jeramie bought good  brakes the first time because both the brakes and rotors were swapped out FOR FREE!!  Now my car is all better and it cost us a whopping $5 for some brake cleaner.

I am so grateful that Jeramie wants to learn how to do these things.  It saves us a ton of money. And I'm even more grateful that Gerald is willing to drop whatever he's doing to come over and teach Jeramie.  This is one of the things I love most about Jeramie, he's so anal about the truck. I make fun of him for constantly checking the oil when we're camping and stuff.  But really it's a good thing.

Back to Sunday night, Oliver was SO happy when his daddy finally came inside.

And just for good measure. I don't have a lot of pictures of Gerald.  But I really like this one from our wedding reception.  Cracks me up how young Jeramie looks.

Run Jeramie Run

The day arrived.
Jeramie's 5K that I signed him up for.
He didn't train at all.
AT ALL.

And of course he ran just fine.
What is it with men just being able to run 3 miles?
I trained for 12 weeks prior to my first!

He didn't want his picture taken.

Because it was just the two of us there were no course pictures.
I couldn't bring myself to run with my camera.
Plus I really had slacked on my training prior to the race.
Somehow I thought since I'd done one, another would be no big deal.
Well there were hills.
It was HARD.
Enough said.

We ran together for the first mile.
He pulled slightly ahead for the second mile.
I experienced horrible knee pain during the third mile and he kept going.

The Results:

Jeramie
Division:  Men's, age 30-34
Overall Finish:  90
Division Finish:  7
Official Time:  33:20.9

Me
Division:  Women's, 35-39 (yes, I'm a whole new age group!)
Overall Finish:  99
Division Finish:  6  (yes, that would be better than Jeramie)
Official Time:  34:27.4

I'll have you know I beat 6 women in the 15-18 category.
All girls in the 12-14 category.
I feel good about both of those facts!
I also beat 7 women in the 19-24 category.
AND 8 women in the 25-29.
Lastly 3 in the 30-34 and 4 in my own category.

I did get my ass handed to me by a lady in the 55-59 category (26 mins).

Based on all those numbers I feel pretty darn good about my run.
While technically Jeramie beat me, I maintain the man is 5 years younger and 6 foot tall.
Umm .. he should have beat me by way more than one freaking minute!!

I'm hoping to squeeze one more race in this summer.
I have convinced my friend Rebecca to start training!
We're planning to run the last Run13 event this year, Racing Cane.
She's for sure running the 5K.  I may run the 5K with her or venture out on the 10K alone.
Bonus:  Baylee is training for the 1K.  And she plans to RUN.
So family, we would love for any of you to come out and support us!!

Email from Baylee

So today I received an email from Baylee.
She is home from school for the summer and spends a great deal of time on her iPad.
She loves sending emails and watching YouTube videos.

It reads:

To mom

What you doing tonight what you doing I am doing your mail i am doing watch tv show 30 on people having a baby in the tummy I am doing sleep on my bed at my house I am doing my work book you having my chocolate milk at your house way are you how are you your nice my friend miss you too you help me on my work book way my mom and my dad my brother and winter and Owen and xavier and mike and Amber and Evan and Rachel and papa what us having dinner love Baylee Baylee Howard Kramer

Sent from my iPad

I find it funny that she listed everyone in our family, minus Zarley.
(nothing against little Zar Zar of course)
And it never fails that she's thinking about her next meal.  (dinner)
And she always ends things with Howard Kramer now.
Maybe we should get her name changed.

Another highlight to my day.  Sorry Jeramie, this is too good not to share.
He and I were on the phone and it went a little like this:

Him:  You put a lot of dairy in my lunch today!
Me:  What do you mean?  A yogurt and a string cheese?
Him:  And BREAD ...
Me:  Bread isn't dairy.  Bread is a carb.
We both bust up laughing.
See he's been working some long ass days.  We're talking like 16 hours two days in a row.
His brain is a little fried.
Jeramie blond moment for sure.

Jackson's Birthday - Part 3

To celebrate Jackson's birthday with my family we took advantage of a warm day and headed to the park.  It was a shame that it was so windy or else it would have been such a nice day for the park.  But it was good to get the kids out of the house so they could run around and burn off some steam.  They couldn't get in any trouble there either.

Future NRA?  Not if I have anything to say about it!

Mike and Amber
 We had delicious pork sandwiches!

 Xavier diggin' his dog.

This guy is such a good baby.  Seriously.
Jackson loved this present the best.  Thank goodness for the vaulted ceilings.
 mmmm.  cake.
Have I mentioned how much I love cake?

Three parties later and this kid had a GREAT fifth birthday!

Jeramie's Healthy 2011 Journey

Jeramie was envious of my healthy ways.
So he insisted that he needed to start his own.
So we placed an order in a far distant land .. China.
We received this package:

And inside was this:

Which then meant he needed all these:

Okay .. well maybe the Calcium and D3 are mine .. maybe.

Then this weekend while I was at my movie
I received the following text message:

So I'm trying to work out and I'm facing towards the stairs thinking
that's better when the whole pull up bar falls off the door and
I tumble down six flights of stairs!
My leg hurts.
I could have been killed.

And now my door looks like this.

Because he ripped the top of the trim off the wall at the top of the basement stairs.
And guess who was upset I didn't ask if he was okay?
Umm .. clearly he's a man and if he wasn't ok he would have said so from the beginning right?
Monday morning I heard him telling his mom about what happened.
She laughed too.

Yet another reason we really need to get with the program and repaint
all the main living space in our house.

The P90X journey has just begun for Jeramie.
For now he needs to find somewhere else to do his pull ups.
I can't squeeze P90X into my running schedule right now.
But I haven't ruled out doing it at a later date.

On top of all this Jeramie has decided to follow in my footsteps.
Pride Day 5K in June
He's enlisting friends at work to run with him.
I'll probably run with him too.  Since by then I plan to be a 5K pro!

Since THE day.

Since we got married we've done a ton of super fun things together.  Here are just a few of those memories over the past 4 years.

We went on Jeramie and Jackson's first trip to Disneyland!
We went on our first and so far only "vacation" without kids.
Mexican Cruise for 7 days.
We (or should I say I survived) Jeramie's drunken adventure in Mexico.
 We had .. another BOY.
Jeramie has become an amazing daddy to Baylee.
He have so far survived having 2 boys.
Boy is that a crazy ride!
We have both learned how to wakeboard on Dad's boat.
Jeramie survived me leaving him with Jackson and Baylee for almost
two weeks while Wyland and I went on our England adventure.
We had an amazing California family vacation!
 And .. it's .. ANOTHER boy!
We've become good little house painters.
We've had a lot of fun over the past four years of marriage.  With our third baby boy arriving in a few short weeks it's about to get even more interesting!!

Happy 4th Wedding Anniversary to US!!!!
