Let the Summer Festivities Begin

So after our return from England our first trip out in the trailer with the boat was up to Jordanelle for Father's Day weekend. It was like a weekend of unfortunate events. On Saturday we attempted to drop the boat in the water a few times and we got rained on every time we did it. The kids were cold and we were all drenched! So it was back to the trailer to hang out and wait to see if the rain would go away. On Saturday night Rachel and Evan actually had to leave and head up to her parents condo in Park City because their tent leaked. It was such a weird weekend.

Nothing can erase Wyland's smile!

Such a great campsite overlooking the lake.

So as I mentioned this is Father's Day weekend. I had purchased a new wakeboard for Jeramie from the kids. He had been talking about wanting one all Winter long and so I knew it was a good choice. On Sunday we surprised him. While we has down at the bathrooms we got his wakeboard out and put it in my wakeboard bag. When Jeramie came back up he could see we were uncovering the boat and started complaining about having to take it back out again. At this point it had been a very long and wet weekend. The ONLY reason we were attempting to get back out on the water was for Jeramie to ride his new wakeboard. So being the kind wife that I am I told him to suck it up and stop complaining. Instead go get my wakeboard out of the bag over there on the table. So he marches down there and unzips the bag and says,
"This isn't yours it's Evan's."
Then he turns to Evan and says, "Isn't this your wakeboard?"
Evan says, "No that isn't mine."
Jeramie has a very confused look on his face.
My Dad frees him of his confusion and says, "Happy Fathers Day!"
Needless to say Jeramie LOVED his gift.
So we head down to put the boat in the water. Boat is in, Jeramie has driven off with my Dad to park the trailer and I keep telling Evan he needs to drop the propeller into the water. He said he was trying. So when we get the boat to the dock we inform my dad that the propeller won't drop down. That's right .. we're finally all in the water and now the BOAT is broken. So back out of the water we come and head straight home.
As if that wasn't enough, Jeramie leaves to drive his kids home and he calls me 5 minutes later to tell me that the clutch just went out on Big Red (that's our truck). Very little went right this weekend!!

Ugh! That sounds like our camping trip this weekend, but worse. It sounds like fun though, despite all your mishaps!
